Sensory Space
What is it?
The Sensory Space is an enclosed space full of engaging sensory activities where the students of The Pennsylvania Sate University can come and relax their senses during finals week. This room will be located in the collaboration commons in the Pattee Library.
The activites in the space
Relaxing colorful animations playing on the TV screen with the focus of visual stimulation
Octagonal lights that can be tapped and change color. Florescent expo markets for students to draw on the white boards within the space focusing on the touch sensation. As well as comfortable egg shaped chairs that are based on sensory needs which encapsulate the user limiting distractions
An engraved acrylic puzzle students can put together and take apart with a focus on the sensation of touch and sound
A coloring book with drawing prompts focused on positive self reflection that students can interact with in the space or take along with them
A white noise machine that can play different types of white noise or calming noises as well as touch sensory stickers and fidget toys
